Project Initiative
In order to satisfy the requirements of financial transactions of real estate properties, BC Housing Management and Commission were obliged to have Phase 1 – Environmental Site Assessments conducted on two Senior Care Home properties they wished to purchase for future development potential.
Responsibilities
RJ & Associates was contracted by BC Housing to conduct the Phase 1 – Environmental Site Assessments on the subject properties. Each environmental assessment was conducted in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association protocol: CSA Z768-01 – Phase 1 Preliminary Site Investigation and the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) guidelines. In following these guidelines, RJ & Associates completed a collection of background and context information, a review of all present and historical records and information sources, conducted site reconnaissance and interviews. Sampling was only completed if determined necessary. The final report provided an outline of management recommendations regarding contamination, hazard, or health and safety issues relevant to the subject properties.
