Course Overview:
In B.C., workers conducting asbestos abatement work in relation to a building must hold the appropriate WorkSafeBC asbestos certification.
This 4-day course provides comprehensive instruction in the practices and procedures used in asbestos abatement and covers the Level 1 (Foundational Awareness) and Level 2 (Asbestos Safety) core competencies established by WorkSafeBC.
The course combines classroom instruction with hands-on practical training. Practical components focus on the control measures and techniques used to minimize fibre release and worker exposure when disturbing asbestos-containing materials.
RJ & Associates is a WorkSafeBC-approved Level 2 asbestos training provider. The required Level 2 practical skills assessment and certification exam are administered as part of this course. Participants who successfully complete the training, practical assessment and certification exam meet the requirements for WorkSafeBC Level 2 Asbestos Safety certification. WorkSafeBC issues the certificate upon successful completion of the certification requirements.

- Health effects and medical surveillance requirements.
- Provincial regulations and guidelines.
- Personal protective equipment, including respirators.
- Equipment, materials, and tools.
- Abatement planning and site setup.

- Safe work procedures for asbestos abatement.
- Waste packaging, handling, and transfer.
Important Requirement - Steel-toe boots are required for this course.
